FHN Kiss & Ride
This method of drop off will increase safety in our parking lot. 50 students from grades 7 & 8 have now been trained and certified in safety patrolling and are excited to begin.
At 8:15 every morning there will be one line of entry for cars. The parking lot area will not be accessible from 8:15-8:30 a.m. Cars will proceed up to where our safety patrollers are positioned at the side entrance door.
Please do not stop at the yard area. The first four cars will stop where the safety patrollers are positioned and will let their student passengers out of the car. If possible it would be greatly appreciated if your child had their school items on their laps prior to exiting.
Kindergarten students using the Kiss & Ride will be escorted by safety patrollers to their yard.
There will be no stopping at the front of the school or on the driveway as this is a fire route and severely impacts traffic flow of both cars and busses. Parents not wishing to use the Kiss & Ride, can either park in the limited visitors parking before 8:15 a.m. or park on the road and walk their child to the yard.
End of the day exit routine
For increased safety, students will now be directed to use only walkway areas and will not be crossing the front driveway in the area of the buses. Cars that are parked in the visitors parking before 3:00 will now need to stay until all buses have left and will not be assisted out before the buses leave at the end of the day.
Our safety patrollers, visible in their fluorescent green vests, join the staff and parents of the community in a committed to an increased student safety. We appreciate your patience in the implementation of this program and as always value your feedback.
